reaching for the stars

reaching for the stars
the theme this week at The Three Muses is "stars."  lately my ideas have been coming to me when i go running, just like this one did.  i knew i wanted the girl to have a star in her fingers, but i didn't know how to do the rest of the stars.  i was getting pretty frustrated this morning as i kept trying different things and nothing was looking right or working how i wanted it to.  i was thinking and trying so hard my head was starting to hurt! i decided what i needed to do was to step away and go for a run.  wow, did that ever help, my head felt so clear afterward!  i came inside and just started cutting and this is what i came up with for the stars/sky.  i'm actually very happy with how it turned out.  so anyways, here's my entry!

Isn't it amazing how putting a project "down" for a while gives a new perspective?!? This is absolutely adorable! Hugs, Terri

This is absolutely delightful...never know you were struggling. Stepping away can be the right thing, and clearly you proved it! Bravo! LynnF

This is really really neat!!!! I love the whole composition of it. Your art flowed out of you once your head was clear! STAR work!

This is beautiful and such a charming design in your lovely style. I too sometimes need to go walking or running from what I'm working on for a while - to get a fresh perspective. Lovely art!

I can see this one hanging in the room of some lucky little girl, growing up to reach for the stars. It's wonderful!! Thanks for sharing your talent.

Tammy, stepping away or going for a run has certainly paid off because this is fantastic. May I say I love your style of less is more, it is so refreshing.

A gold star from me! This is absolutely charming! I can see how running would help, it's partly stepping away and partly moving the body - I frequently walk and it can really help. Sure worked for this piece, it's gorgeous! ~Sharon
