Black and White

Top
This week I had to combine the two challenges for Mixed Media Monday,  black and white with a touch of color and The Three Muses, newspaper.  Luckily these two themes are easy to combine.  I didn't find black and white to be very inspiring,  especially with the itch for spring and spring like colors, but I really like the final outcome.
Our neighbors had a house fire early Saturday morning so I haven't had the time or energy until last night to even think about drawing or painting.   The fire started in the attic (electrical) and luckily everyone was able to get out unharmed.   Unfortunately though they had to find a new place to live (they rented the house).  This means Fischer's best buddy had to move.  It's kind of sad because they could pretty much play whenever they wanted, without the play date arrangement and they get along so well.  Now I keep hearing, "who can I play with?"  They still only live 4 blocks away,  but now it will have to be play dates!  Below is Fischer's drawing of the house fire.

I love your little girl. She looks sad, but that's probably because her neighbor's house burned. I like Fischer's house too! So glad you summoned the energy to play along with us. We appreciate that you share your talent!

I imagine that a house fire in such close proximity is not only draining in needing to be there for the occupants but also because it is a reminder of all the "what ifs" when thinking about it terms of one's own home. Fischer's drawing is very touching. I love it. Your picture is exquisite - so beautifully crafted. I love it too - a lot.

Sorry about your neighbours house, that must have been scary. I love your little collage - goes to show you don't need fancy stuff all the time to creat with.

Fisher is a good artist! Tell him I'm sorry his friend had to move, but it's good that he's ok! You created a great piece even tho you're a little exhausted from those events! I think your little girl is very special! LynnF
