What was she thinking?

It seems my kids seem to get into the most trouble when I am on the telephone.  A few weeks ago after being on the telephone for awhile, I turned around and was shocked to see my 2 year old sporting a new haircut that she had given herself..    I couldn't believe she cut her hair!  I couldn't decide if I should laugh or cry.  In the meantime while Amelia was getting in trouble, her older brother was pretty quite.  I kept asking him why he didn't tell me she was doing it.  As I kept looking at her new do, I realized that there was no way a 2 year old could have cut their hair so short, especially in the back.   Come to find out, Fischer, her older brother did it!  So of course, I said "What were you thinking?"  I never got an answer to that one.
I found this weeks challenge at Mixed Media Monday very difficult.  I almost didn't do the challenge.  I had a hard time trying to illustrate my story.  I made so many different sketches of it and nothing was working.  My brain kind of hurt on this one!  Initially I had a boy and a girl in the drawing but I couldn't get it to work right.   I'm still not totally happy with it, but sometimes you just have to move on.  Not everything works out.
I included a before and after picture of Amelia.  She looks like a little Dutch boy now.  No tears were shed on my part, it's only hair.  Luckily though, it will grow back.

I love your artwork. Hopefully you will all be able to laugh about it once the hair grows back.

I think the new cut suits her! Perhaps your son will be a hairdresser when he's older. I think your illustration is very cute. It's funny how you always know your children are up to mischief when they grow quiet!!

Very cute! I had a similar incident with my 5 yo and his 3 yo cousin. "What were they thinking?" Nothing! They were just playing!

I love, love, love it!! My son did the same thing--but after his "bangs" were all sheared off, he went into the sweater that he was wearing, and yes you illustrated it perfectly!!

Oh, Tammy what a story! That's one thing I escaped with my children - although we did have a chewing gum in hair incident, grin! Who knows, Fischer might grow up to be a fabulous hair stylist! I think you did a wonderful job of illustrating the situation - and after all, Amelia did get the blame initially, LOL.
